Along the San Antonio river sit five Spanish colonial era Catholic missions in the 18th century, these Spanish-built missions were established in an effort to convert the native inhabitants to Spanish allegiance. Explore the missions, including Mission San Antonio de Valero (aka the Alamo) and learn about the Battle of the Alamo. This mission was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2015.
