Frequently Asked Questions
The Senior Center operates a wheelchair lift-equipped van for Sudbury seniors and people with disabilities that will pick you up at your place of residence and bring you to the Senior Center and any other destination in Sudbury. Then it will return later to bring you back to your place of residence.
You must preregister with the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) by mailing an application and sending a check to start your debit account. Applications are available from the MWRTA or the Senior Center.
Priority is given to riders that need to get to work, have a doctors appointment and need groceries. The van operates 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Friday. Cost for a one way ride in town is $1.00, and is $2 one way out of town.
Once the account is set up, call the MWRTA central reservation phone line at 508-820-4650 to request a ride at least 48 business hours in advance.
The entire cost of operating the van, including the driver’s salary and benefits and repairs to the vehicle are paid through an agreement with the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA).
The Senior Center also operates a grant funded Sudbury shuttle service along Route 20. Contact the Senior Center for more information.

BayPath Elder Services provides, through the Senior Center, a hot lunch-time home delivered meal Monday – Friday to eligible residents. For information, please contact BayPath at (508) 573-7200 if you or a family member are interested. You may also speak with Anne Manning, Senior Center Information Specialist about home delivered meals and other resources.
BayPath Elder Services also provides a hot meal once a month at the Senior Center in conjunction with an informational or educational event. The suggested voluntary donation is $3.00. Please check the newsletter for a schedule and make sure to reserve a space!
Part of the cost of the meal is underwritten by the federal government through the Administration on Aging and the Mass. Executive Office of Elder Affairs. Each meal is planned by a registered dietitian to meet 1/3 of the daily nutritional requirements of a senior. Reservations for meals can be made by calling the Senior Center at 978-443-3055.
We also have several health related programs and a free blood-pressure clinic. We offer day trips, multi-day trips, and even trips to other countries. For further information, call the Senior Center at (978) 443-3055, take a look at information on this website under Programs, or Click Here to send us an email.
All the details are available in the monthly publication, the Sudbury Senior Scene, available free at the Senior Center and on the Town website.
We are always looking for ideas for new programs. Many of the Senior Center programs started as the result of an idea from a Sudbury senior.
